At ESN Udine, we believe that being an international student is also about learning how to live more mindfully.
On January 27th, 2026, we gathered for a hands-on Beeswax Wrap Workshop and turned a simple afternoon into a masterclass in sustainability
What are Beeswax Wraps?
For those who missed it, beeswax wraps are the ultimate eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic wrap and aluminum foil. They are made by coating pieces of cotton fabric with a mix of melted beeswax and oils.
Why we love them:
-
Zero Waste: They are reusable and biodegradable.
-
Breathable: They keep food (like bread, cheese, or veggies) fresher for longer compared to plastic.
-
Washable: Just a bit of cold water and mild soap, and they are ready to go again!
During the workshop, our participants got their hands dirty (well, waxy!) by choosing colorful fabrics and ironing them to perfection to create their own custom sets of wraps to take home.
A Special Thank You
This event wouldn't have been possible without the right environment. We want to send a huge Thank You to the team at Studio Spazio.
They hosted us in their wonderful space and provided us the perfect creative atmosphere for our group to work, chat, and create. Having a space that supports local initiatives and student life is vital for our network, and we couldn't have asked for a better partner for this activity.
